MISSION VIEJO, Calif. -- May 7th, 2007 -- Vigilistics, a leader in providing systems for food
and dairy processing plants, announced that its pending patent "Method and System for
Monitoring Batch Product Manufacturing" has received a Notice of Allowance by the United
States Patent Office. Vigilistics tracks food products through multi-step processing,
including tracking of cross-contamination of food products that is missed by older
technologies. Cross-contamination has been identified as an issue in the recent pet food
recalls.
"The complete tracking and tracing including cross-contamination is necessary to safeguard
the food supply," said Craig Nelson, Founder of Vigilistics. "There are other tracking and
tracing systems that keep track of bulk movements. The Vigilistics solution is the only one
that records exactly every production phase directly from the plant floor and assembles
transactions that correlate actual production and every possible cross-contamination. The
resulting information allows tracking from any lot to every possible source of contamination,
and to every possible contaminated final product, all accomplished in less than ten seconds,"
Craig Nelson concluded.
Vigilistics is located in Mission Viejo California, close to the largest concentration of dairy
and food processing plants in the United States. Vigilistics provides software to meet the
specific needs of food and dairy processing companies. Vigilistics software assembles
correlated transactions of production operations for use in analysis, management information,
notifications of problems, and to document compliance. The software is offered with a set of
modules for specific objectives. Vigilistics Inc. is a private venture-funded corporation.
